It's over a year old and has done the rounds online a few times. But it
never gets old. One of
our Twitter followers,
@HartlepoolLisa, kindly reminded us of this video of two dogs greeting their owner, a soldier just back from a 14-month tour of duty in Iraq.
Get the tissues out. Ready? Okay.

This video was so touching for me, my husband is deployed in the Persian Gulf at the moment and my mom sent this to me. We just got our dog Max from Dogs Trust Darlington in May and my husband deployed in August so they only had a few months together before he left, but they definitely bonded in that short time. Before he left my husband kept asking me if Max will remember him when he returns home in the Spring, he was so worried that he would forget him. I assured him that dogs have amazing scent memory and he will remember him the moment his scent wafts in the door. I can't wait until I can take a video like this of my own.

Lisa I think I wanted to cry more at your comment than at the video; that's so moving. For sure, Max will remember.

Lisa's comment touched me deeply. His dog will eagerly greet him when he returns. They are much smarter than many humans give them credit.

This is a lovely video and I must admit I was a bit moist-eyed watching it. Although my husband is not in the military, he does work away quite a bit, and it is always so touching to hear and see the commotion when he greets our dogs on returning home. Here's hoping Lisa's brave husband and Max are re-united very soon, and best wishes to all our troops overseas.
What a wonderful video! Those look like the happiest 2 pups ever (and who could blame them, thank goodness their pal came home safe!).
Thanks for sharing.
