The Dogs Trust Vets go for a (long!) Walk

The Veterinary and Veterinary nursing team at Dogs Trust have largely taken leave of their senses and intend to do the National Three Peaks Challenge.

The challenge is to climb 3 mountains;

  • Ben Nevis in Scotland (1344m tall)
  • Scafell Pike in England (978m tall) and
  • Snowdon in Wales (1085m tall)

As if that wasn’t enough of a challenge, we shall be completing it in only 24 hours!!

The team will be supported by an intrepid bevy of drivers and guides including Philip Laurence, Mike Battle, David Gillie and Howard Gorsden. The whole team will be sponsoring Dogs Trust and hope to raise over £2,000 for their favourite charity.’

Chris Laurence, Dogs Trust Veterinary Director

Since deciding to take on this challenge, at our meeting last July, the team have been preparing themselves for the challenge. And with the event now less than 2 months away, preparations are in the final stages, with practice hill walks in varying weather conditions (some HORRIFIC!) and locations around the UK and Ireland.

While all this practice is stamina building for all involved, the team would be most revved up by the potential of reaching our target so please lend us your support and spread the word!
