Creative canine cartoons by Patch
Thanks to a recent feature on dog art she was writing, the lovely Carolyn Menteith discovered Patch (aka Patrick Latham), a brilliant cartoonist and caricaturist who did a beautiful cartoon of her beloved dog, Digby for her.
Having been a good friend to Dogs Trust over the years - and since we survived ICAWC together last October! - Carolyn emailed me Patch's website details, urging me to take a look.
Patch's style totally appealed to me, as Carolyn knew it would. The cartoons, illustrations, murals and caricatures in the gallery suggest a subtle difference in character from one form to the other - a more angular look to the caricatures, inspiration from Pop Art in the murals and a sense of humour and knowledge of animals in the cartoons and illustrations!
You can see more examples of Patch's work on his website, through which you can also contact him for commissions. Hmm... I wonder if we need more cat pictures around the house...

Having worked with Patrick on both the article for Your Dog magazine, and on another animal related project, I can highly recommend him. He really does spend time making sure that you get exactly what you want, and the cartoons he produced for me are something really special. He is also a really nice person - which always helps!
