I was honoured to be invited to the launch of ‘The Company
of Dogs’ exhibition last night (20th March 2014).
Rosie Fortescue |
Amanda Abbington |
The exhibition is a joint venture with PetsPyjamas and animal
portrait photographer Gerrard Gethings.
We were lucky to be asked to provide 20
of our own lovely dogs - who at the time were all looking for homes - to be photographed
and displayed along with the many cute pooches belonging to some very famous
faces!
I had, of course, seen the pictures before the exhibition
but nothing can prepare you for the grandeur of seeing them framed and pride of
place in the wonderful space at PetsPyjamas.
Our feature wall of Dogs Trust dogs was simply stunning and every
one showed the dog to perfection, it was hard to choose a favourite.

The event itself was dog themed (Pugsecco anyone?) and the canine
guests were not left out with doggy cupcakes and biscuits being the first canapés
of the night! As well as a cosy nook to chill out in - could have done with a
quick break there myself as a night in heels began to take its toll!
As the drinks flowed and new doggy pals were made I met many
many people every one a dog lover and every one loved all the photographs. I’m going
to admit I’m not a big celeb follower so many of the famous names passed me by
but I could probably tell you the name of every dog I met!!
We took many bids on the night for the portraits (pawtraits?)
But you can still bid for your favourite by visiting http://www.petspyjamas.com/the-company-of-dogs/
all proceeds will come to Dogs Trust.
The Company of Dogs Exhibition takes place at PetsPyjamas
gallery, 81 Leonard Street, London, EC2A 4QS from 21 - 29 March. The gallery is
open from 10am until 5pm. The exhibition is free and if you are in the area I do
encourage you to go you really won’t be disappointed!
