A Hero's Tail is a series of real life stories of the
activities of the dog section of South Wales Police.
The book is written to
raise money to improve the accommodation for the dogs at SWP's training centre
in Bridgend. It has a foreword by celebrity dog lover, Paul O'Grady, and
is available to purchase from the website:
The officers at South Wales Police Dog and Mounted Section need to
update the facilities for their service partners and four legged
friends. However, there are simply no funds available
in the public purse and rather than accept the situation, they have
pursued other opportunities to raise funds!
The Idea:
South Wales Police officers gave Wood Green the true life stories of
their adventures with their four legged partners. These stories were then collated and 'A
Hero's Tail' was written and published!
This project is a joint collaboration between SWP, Dogs Trust
and Wood Green, The Animals Charity. Nothing like this had ever been attempted let alone achieved anywhere
in the world as far as we are aware. It truly is a ground breaking
initiative and something we are very proud of.
