Dogs Trust Loughborough: Roald Dahl Day!

The official Roald Dahl Day takes place every year on 13 September, on the birthday of the World's No. 1 Storyteller. In 2013, Roald Dahl Day coincides with Friday 13th - the perfect excuse for even more mischief and mayhem than usual.

Causing mischief and mayhem daily at the Loughborough Rehoming Centre we have own Roald Dahl characters!

First off we would like to introduce you to our very own Charlie... He wishes he lived in a 'Choc Drop' factory!

Charlie is a 1 year old Australian Terrier looking for his forever home. Cheeky Charlie is a real character looking for a reasonably quiet new home without many comings and goings where he can settle in and find his feet.

He is a bundle of fun once he gets to know you but he does struggle with introducing himself to new people as nerves get the better of him. Charlie also finds getting to know new dogs difficult and further socialisation is a must in his new home.

With time invested in training to keep his busy mind stimulated, Charlie will make an entertaining and loyal companion. He needs to live in an adult only home, where he can be the only pet.

Next up we have Sam our BFG, and  little Bovril!

Well, they don’t come much more handsome and charismatic than Sam! He is an energetic and bouncy young lad who loves to be out with his carers on walks or running off lead in our paddock.

Sam is a toy fanatic and loves a good game and will happily entertain himself and play independently with a toy. Sam has some basic commands but will need his training to continue in his new home so he can reach his full potential. He will make a fabulous fun loving addition to his new family. He is suitable to live with young adults and a female dog in his new home.

Lucky little Bovril is currently reserved at the Loughborough centre, so will hopefully be off to join his forever home shortly!

Last but not least we have the delightful Rodney and Delboy!

Both of these boys are 12 week old Saluki/Collie Crosses and are currently looking for their forever homes.

Rodney is suitable to live with older children, as he is slightly more nervous. He is suitable to live with a cat, but the centre feel that he must be rehomed to a family that already has a dog as this would help build his confidence levels.

Delboy is suitable to live with children of all ages, cats and other dogs in his new home.

Not pictured, but also available in the litter is Raquel who is very similar to Rodney in temperament and is also slightly more nervous. She is suitable to live with older children and cats in her new home, and she must also be rehomed to a family that already have a dog due to her confidence levels.
