Book: Carole Collier's Why a Staffie?

Carole Collier is a Staffy owner and lover who has written a book to help encourage people to see beyond the breed's sometimes negative reputation. We definitely think it's important to stand up for Staffies, so we asked her to tell us all a bit more about her book. She also provided us with the beautiful photos!

As with the first, the updated Second Edition of Why A Staffie? tells the “other side of the story” about this much maligned and very loving breed. The majority of stories contained in the book are told as if through the eyes of the dogs themselves. These will make you smile. Then there are the stories of dogs that have been ill treated or abandoned, only to find love once more with a forever home. In the opinion of the contributors to this book, plus many other rescue organisations and countless vets, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier makes the perfect family pet.

As with the first edition, once production costs have been met 100% of the balance will go straight to charity. In this case Doris Banham Dog Rescue, to help in their work providing loving homes for dogs in need.

To purchase a copy please go to www.lulu.com

The book is available both in glorious colour, showing all our dogs in their true colours, or black and white, so you can choose whichever version best suits your pocket .

You can also download and share Dogs Trust's factsheet about Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Staffy Crosses.

Excellent book. The reputation that Staffies have saddens me greatly - thank you for putting their point of view across. I have read my copy from cover to cover. Thank you for all your hard work.
